Lakshmi: Goddess of Wealth

The Lotus or Nelumbo Nucifera is the National Flower of India. It is a sacred flower and occupies a unique position in the art and mythology of ancient India and has been an auspicious symbol of Indian culture since time immemorial. The lotus flower symbolizes purity, transformation, and spiritual enlightenment.

Of special interest here is the Goddess Lakshmi who holds two lotus flowers in her hands and is seated on a pink lotus. She is about expansion and letting go of jealousy, one of the delusionary emotions / thought patterns of the human mind when it comes to wealth and material possessions. Jealousy blocks the energy flow of the Vishuddhi Chakra, the throat center. Lakshmi Devi is the Goddess of Wealth and provides for the spiritual and material wealth of her devotees.

Her consort is Lord Venkateshwara who attained jeeva samadhi in Tirupathi, Andrah Pradesh, India. Means his energy is still there and grands sincere devotees’ wishes for wealth.
