Best Prayers for the Soul
There is no greater prayer than the quiet recognition of what is already true.
So’ham asmi
I am That.
Not as a statement to repeat,
but as a seeing.
What you seek is not elsewhere.
What you long for is not separate.
In stillness, this becomes clear.
Om Namah Shivaya
I bow to the One that is—
within, without, and beyond all forms.
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu
May all beings be free and at peace,
for there are no “others.”
Forgiveness Prayer
Nothing real needs to be forgiven.
Yet the heart longs to be free.
I release what I have held against myself.
I release what I have held against others.
What was done, was done in unawareness.
What I am is untouched.
Let the weight of guilt fall away.
Let the burden of blame dissolve.
There is no past to carry,
only this moment—open and whole.
In letting go,
peace remains.
Forgiveness and True Seeing
For Deeper Reflection
I am willing to see differently.
What I judged,
I no longer hold as truth.
What I resisted,
I now allow.
Beyond every story,
there is innocence.
Beyond every wound,
there is wholeness.
Nothing real has been harmed.
Nothing real can be threatened.
Only love remains.
Gratitude Prayer
I pause,
and what is here reveals itself.
Life, as it is,
already given.
Not earned,
not deserved—
simply here.
In this moment,
nothing is lacking.
And in seeing this,
gratitude naturally arises.
No effort,
no reaching—
just quiet recognition.
The Lord’s Prayer – Advaitic Reflection
The Divine is not elsewhere.
It is the essence of all that is.
Our Father who art in heaven
The One presence, within and everywhere.
Hallowed be Thy name
Sacred is this being, beyond all names.
Thy kingdom come
May this truth be realized, here and now.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
May life move in harmony with what is.
Give us this day our daily bread
All that is needed is already given.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us
In oneness, nothing is held, nothing is separate.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
May illusion fall away, revealing what is real.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever
All arises from, and returns to, the One.
Amen
So it is.
St. Francis’s Prayer – Advaitic Reflection
Peace is not something to bring.
It is what remains when nothing is resisted.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Let this life be an expression of what is already whole.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
Where separation appears, let love reveal itself.
Where there is injury, pardon
Nothing real has been harmed.
Where there is doubt, faith
What is true does not waver.
Where there is despair, hope
Even here, presence remains untouched.
Where there is darkness, light
Awareness is never absent.
And where there is sadness, joy
Beneath all movement, there is quiet fullness.
Grant that I may not seek to be consoled, but to console
In giving, nothing is lost.
To be understood, but to understand
There are no separate others.
To be loved, but to love
Love is what I am.
For it is in giving that we receive
Nothing leaves; nothing is gained.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
In release, freedom is seen.
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life
What is false falls away.
What is real remains.
Amen
So it is.
