Sesame Seeds Bliss Balls

After each early morning yoga session at my guru’s aadheenam (ashram and temple complex) we received a ‘reward’ of yummy Sesame Seeds Bliss Balls.

Sesame seeds are beneficial to our health. They contain a wide range of minerals, vitamin B1, dietary fiber, sesamean, and sesamoline. Sesame balls help with cholesterol, high blood pressure, increases vitamin supplies, liver, Rheumatoid Arthritis, vascular and respiratory health, colon cancer, osteoporosis, migraine, bone health.

Eat 1 or 2 sesame balls after yoga everyday.

Here is what you need to prepare them:

1 kg roasted black sesame seeds
1/2 kg jaggery powder
200 ml water

Boil water. Add jaggery powder. Done when jaggery builds threat between fingers. Turn off burner. Add roasted sesame seeds. Let cool. Form golf ball-size balls out of it. Now for the yumm part, simply enjoy…

Notes: Tastes best when freshly prepared. 1kg black sesame seeds yields 15 – 20 bliss balls! Black sesame seeds can be purchased at your local Indian grocery store.
